I have to say I am quite surprised at how this has been handled so far. I was sure they'd start charging for this kind of thing almost immediately. I guess we can enjoy the spoils for now. They probably will at some point, but until then stuff like this is pretty awesome.

I can't expect Killzone 2 to get a 10 from a PC reviewer. PC has a much much richer history of FPS than consoles so it's expected.
Still, I'm not sure why they even bothered since K2 isn't a PC game.
FFXIII won't falter or fail. Not because I have some kind of 'faith' but because very few people know how to back up the big willy talk with their wallets. I highly doubt the naysayers have the conviction of character to skip a huge release like FFXIII. And even if they do, they'll buy Versus which I keep seeing mentioned in a positive light ever since FFXIII went multiplat.

I'll probably still get it even though they've taken one of my most hated features in games, killable AI companions, and made it the entire game. Hated it in RE0, hated it in RE4, and I'll hate it here. But I gots to have my RE fix.
It was actually an overwhelmingly positive 'impression' for anyone who cared to read it.

You're right. It's a spinoff, not a sequel.
And it takes place 20 years prior to the first Halo. So that makes it a prequel, if anything. Author's way off on that one.

My biggest gripe actually is in having another AI to watch out for. I confess I pretty much hate it in every game because the AI is never smart enough to actually help more than impede your progress. Damn hassle that is.

I am not particularly against Apple getting in on gaming if they can bring some original functionality with them as well. But these articles make mountains out of mole hills. I don't believe the iPhone is anywhere near to being a major threat to well-established handhelds anywhere on the planet. I will believe in the iPhone as a competent gaming device only if it can gain any significant penetration whatsoever into the vast Japanese mobile gaming market.

I think the list is good and the article is informatively funny. I mean really, what kind of TMNT game doesn't have 4 player co-op? Or Golden Axe for that matter? These are egregious slips and deserve their spots high on the list.
IMO, every game can be enriched by a co-op environment. It's refreshing and fun not having to invite your friends into a game for the sole purpose of beating the sh*t out of them.
Confusing. I'm all for run & gun as long as it's done well.
But I also enjoyed RE4 in spite of it so this isn't a deal breaker.
See, I'm on the other side of the fence. I don't think run and gun action would spoil the gameplay rather than enrich it if done competently. How many times did gamers suffer through RE 1-CV lamenting the idiocy of the character for not being able to simply move and shoot? I remember when people complained about RE3's dodge mechanic when all it really did was give you a fighting chance. This sounds like the same thing.

The Redguard are probably my favourite fictional black race. Probably because they're so diverse due to Bethesda's painstaking involvement in sweeping back story for all of Tamriel. And I think that's a good cue for future games to take.

I'll be frank. I think it's way too unclear to get all excited. For all we know they could easily mean PC and 360 only. It's a very strong possibility they could include the PS3, but I think it's hardly set in stone with this excerpt.
What I am glad to hear confirmed is a Q4 release.
And if we do hear the unsurprising announcement that it will grace a Sony console, I'm hoping too many won't expose themselves as bitter fanboys by bashing ME at every turn.
